Perth to Exmouth

We had an afternoon and evening layover in Perth.  It was a gorgeous day out.  Our hotel was near the Swan River so we walked down to a park that is on the river.  The park was huge and had a great bike and walking path along the river.  If we had more time there, it would have been great to bike there.

The next morning we had our flight to Exmouth but the Qantas computer system worldwide was shut down.  Luckily we had already checked in so we knew our luggage would get there (12 people on our flight didn't get their luggage).  We were delayed for about 2 hours as they tried to figure out how to manually get everyone on board etc.  Then once we got on the plane, shuttled by buses out to the middle of the tarmac, we sat there for an hour waiting for the final paperwork to take off.  By the time we left, it was after lunch and I was hungry. Unfortunately, the Aussies love their Vegemite, which was on the roast beef sandwich we got on the plane.  So dried apricots and 2 small cookies were my lunch!

We got to Exmouth and it was very warm--finally!  After checking in, we head to "town" and went to find a restaurant to have a late lunch/early dinner.  Just like most restaurants in Australia it seems, lunch is over at 2pm and the restaurant closes until 6pm when they open for dinner.  We found a bakery open so Glenn got a banana smoothie and I got a very yummy chicken and avocado wrap--good food finally!!!

We are staying in a room with a kitchen so we went grocery shopping.  It was an adventure finding food that we wanted but this store seemed to have more than the one in Yulura did.  Back to scrambled eggs for breakfast--YAY!
