After years of talk and anticipation, Glenn and I finally booked our trip of a lifetime to Australia.  What started as 3-4 week trip, has now expanded to 39 days!  And that is only getting to see half of what we wanted.  But after tons of research and weeding out some places, we set our itinerary.

Thanks to all those years of collecting AMEX points, we were able to convert those points to Delta and get one ticket for free.  This is amazing since we are flying business class--quite expensive.  With a 16 hour flight from LA, we decided we needed to get some sleep and the business class has the seats that recline to a bed--should be interesting.  As you may know, it's hard for me to sit still for any length of time, so this should be a true test of my patience being on a plane for that long.  There better be some good movies on the plane!

It was interesting trying to figure out the days in each place since some of the flights were limited or didn't fly on certain days.

Australia Itinerary
Leave June 20 in the afternoon from Dulles.

Lose a day flying--Booo!

July 16- Drive back to Cairns in the morning and catch a flight to Gladstone.

July 17- Arrive at Heron Island in the Great Barrier Reef (GBR) via a 2 1/2 hour boat ride.
